Analytical Chemistry

Bergquist Group: Clinical chemistry, endocrinology and neurochemistry

Using especially human brain tissue and lumbar cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) as a sample sources for characterisation of CSF as a biological fluid and source for biomarkers. New, high performing analytical tools are invented and improved to discover and verify novel biomarkers for improved diagnosis and prognosis of neurological diseases.

Lanekoff Group: Biosurface and imaging mass spectrometry

Imaging mass spectrometry enables generation of ion images showing the localization of molecules on a surface. The Lanekoff group uses the novel technology nano-DESI, abbreviated from nanospray desorption electrospray ionization, for mass spectrometry imaging and surface analysis.

Lind Group: Proteomics and phosphoproteomics

Tailored methods of state-of-the art proteome technologies to study the low intra-cellular levels of protein posttranslational modifications (PTMs).

Petterson & Andersson Group: Trace Elements and metallomics

Plasma spectromectric techniques like ICP-AES or ICP-MS are used to measure trace amounts of elements in a big variety of samples.

Sjöberg Group
Sjöberg Group: Analytical mass spectrometry - fundamentals and applications

Separation and mass spectrometry are techniques that are used in the Sjöberg group for the study of small molecules.

Facility: Mass spectrometry-based proteomics

We offer tailored proteomic solutions for projects from both academia and industry. We are located at the Department of Chemistry-BMC, Analytical Chemistry.
