2020-01-17

The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) has decided to extend their funding to SwedNess research school. SwedNess is a graduate school for neutron scattering operated by six Swedish universities, coordinated by Uppsala University. SwedNess has the goal to educate doctoral students to expand Sweden's expertise in neutron scattering to exploit ESS, the European Spallation Source, now under construction in Lund. The financing consists of 100 million SEK until 2025.

SwedNess was formed in August 2016 by a start-up funding of 120 million SEK from SSF, which has now decided to extend the funding with an additional 100 million SEK. The funding ensures a five-year extension of the graduate school and will be used to finance 20 new doctoral students.

SwedNess research school for neutron scattering is run by six Swedish universities: Uppsala University (coordinator), Chalmers University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linköping University, Lund University and Stockholm University.
