Measures against covid transmission during on-campus teaching - a reminder

Dear students and teachers,

Given the current situation with the spread of Covid-19 in society, we would like to remind everyone how important it is to follow the routines that have been put in place to reduce the risk of the spread of infection in our teaching labs. So far, we have succeeded together in preventing transmission during our lab classes – keep it up! Laboratory education is an essential part of a high-quality education in chemistry and we want to make sure that we can continue teaching laboratories on campus under safe conditions.

Here you can find a quick guide that summarises the routines at the TekNat-faculty, the rules at the Section of Chemistry, as well as a message from the Deputy Vice-chancellor of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Johan Tysk. We would particularly like to remind you all to:

  • Stay home and get tested if you have the slightest symptoms of illness, or suspect that you might have been infected! You must also stay home for at least 48 hours after your symptoms disappear, before you start meeting others again.
  • Keep distance from each other and always be thinking about avoiding crowding (inside, on the way to and from, and outside the labs!)
  • Maintain good hand hygiene by regularly washing your hands
  • Follow the instructions and guidelines in the laboratories to help us maintain a safe environment.

We would also remind you that face masks are available for our lab classes for everyone who would like to use them.

Keep distance, keep safe and take care of each other!

The Section of Chemistry
