Daniel Brandell receives the Bergstedt award

The Royal Society of Sciences had a ceremony today at Museum Gustavianum in Uppsala. During which they announced that Professor Daniel Brandell will receive the Bergstedt award.

The Professor in Materials Chemistry, Daniel Brandell, receives the award with following motivation.

For his fundamental studies of ion transport in polymeric materials. Brandells research on electrolytes has a very high relevancy in todays society. His research can help make future batteries more efficient.

The Royal Society of Sciences at Uppsala is Sweden’s oldest learned society, founded in 1710 by Eric Benzelius.
Bergstedts award is subsequently one of the oldest awards The Royal Society of Sciences give out, starting in 1827 by a legacy donation from Erik Bergstedt.
