Leif Hammarström, Haining Tian and Henrik Ottosson, Physical Chemistry vs Molecular Biomimetics, Molecular Inorganic Chemistry, at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström, constitute 3 of the 16 researchers whose research has been granted funding from the Swedish Energy Agency as "renewing projects for a sustainable energy system".

The Swedish Energy Agency has decided to fund 16 research projects with a total of 68 million SEK within the research program "Renewed research and innovation with energy relevance". The aim of the initiative is to strengthen projects for innovative and transformative research and innovation that contribute to energy and climate policy goals in the long run.
